Trust and safety
Meeting people should feel good.
Friendship and dating both start with a stranger, so safety has to be part of the foundation. Here are the standards we are building towards and a few habits that keep you safe today.
Our promise
What we are building towards.
Safety from day one
Trust and safety are designed into NetHitch from the start, not added after something goes wrong.
Easy reporting
Block or report someone in a couple of taps. We read every report and act on it.
Your data stays yours
We do not sell personal data. Read how we handle it in our Privacy Policy.
NetHitch is in pre-launch. These are the standards we are working towards, and we will always say plainly what is live and what is still planned.
Community guidelines
Be kind. Be honest. Be you.
A short list of house rules for a community people actually enjoy being in.
- Be 18 or over. NetHitch is for adults only.
- Be yourself. Use your own name and photos. No impersonation and no fake profiles.
- Be respectful. No harassment, hate, threats or intimidation.
- Respect consent. Never share someone's private content or pressure them into anything.
- Keep it real. No spam, ads, scams or asking people for money.
- Leave the platform's safeguards alone. No scraping, hacking or trying to get around our safety systems.
Staying safe in person
Habits that help, today and always.
Talk before you meet
Have a video or voice call first so you know the person matches their photos and story.
Pick a public place
Choose a busy, public spot you know, and arrange your own way there and back.
Tell a friend
Share who you are meeting, where and when, and agree a time to check in.
Keep money out of it
Never send money, gift cards or crypto to someone you have not met in person.
Guard your details
Keep your home address, workplace and daily routine private until you really trust someone.
Trust your gut
If something feels off, you are allowed to leave. You do not owe anyone an explanation.
Something feels off?
If you see a message claiming to be from NetHitch, a security issue or anything that worries you, tell us. If you are ever in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.
